Week 3 Studs and Duds

In the AFL there are the knowns, the unknowns, the known unknowns, and then the totally whacked out. The following are some of the highlights….

Aaron Garcia, uber-veteran QB for the Jacksonville Sharks rocked the house with 17 for 19 for 308 yards and eight strikes into the fabled Zone of End.

Greg Orton, wideout for the Spokane Shock had 9 catches for an eye-popping 203 yards and 5 TDs. The team can’t get a win though, and the coaching change adds to the turmoil.

Jeron Harvey, wide receiver for Jacksonville 10 catches for an incredible 173 yards and four dances beneath the yellow iron.

Arizona wideout Trandon “Trampoline” Harvey cleaned up with Rod Windsor temporarily acting the role of dud and decoy. Harvey had 11 catches for 50 yards and 4 TDs. Expect Windsor to improve on his one TD debut and start eating into Harvey’s feast.

Orlando wide receiver T. T. Toliver had 9 grabs for 124 yards and 3 TDs.

Stud Leap of Faith Award:

Cleveland quarterback Kurt “Rock Tosser” Rocco was the fantasy leap of faith of the week.  Rocco got his first start of the season after Veteran QB John Dutton went down with a torn Achilles. Rocco  was an unstoppable 20 of 23 for 270 yards and 6 TDs through the air. And he even rumbled one in on the ground.  If you were crazy enough to start him, my hat is off to you. He looks like a keeper.

Brent “Hollywood” Holmes, wide receiver for the Mustangs. More hype than happening here. He had an impotent one catch for fourteen yards. Lack of fan support and major QB problems are also contributing factors.

Ben “The Stallion” Stallings, fullback for the Utah Blaze made only one rushing attempt, which he fumbled.

Kicker John Wehrle made only one point after kick and missed two, which landed him exactly nowhere,. That is, he was cut. Such is the life of kicker.
